Ombori has collaborated with the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, to establish a new innovative project for recycling plastics and aluminum cans. The first launch of the Etihad Guest Smart Recycling was on 17th January 2022 at the Abu Dhabi stability week. So far, it has gained favorable feedback from users with a 95 NPS score.
The Ombori system helps pick out and examine the item and confirms its recycling and reward qualification by dropping the empty plastic bottles and cans inside the Etihad Guest innovative recycling machine. The individual is then supposed to scan a QR code with their smartphone to get Etihad Guest Miles. To become a member of the Etihad Guest loyalty program, you can join using the signup link provided.
Ombori Grid cooperated with INCOM TOMRA and Microsoft to build an innovative recycling machine that operates as reverse vending machines (RVMs). The system is linked to Etihad Guest’s loyalty scheme for awarding users with Etihad Guest Miles to recycle plastic drink bottles and aluminum cans in real-time.
According to Ombori CEO Andreas Hassellöf, stability is key to all of us. We promote stability practices by integrating our system and Microsoft Azure with INCOM TOMRA’s reverse vending machines to bring this unique solution to life by embracing the trusted Microsoft Cloud. Naim Yazbeck, regional director of Microsoft UAE’s Enterprise and Partner Group (EPG), stated that Microsoft is determined to speed up the progress toward a stable future by decreasing our environmental impact and encouraging our customers to implement viable strategies.
Etihad Airways’ Director of Loyalty and Partnerships, Kim Hardaker, acknowledged that working together with OmboriGrid has helped create a fast and effective system to improve the environment. This union has positively impacted the guest and other users to contribute towards a more stable environment in the future.
