Alex A Molinaroli: CEO of Johnson Controls and Advocate for Sustainability

Alex A Molinaroli is the CEO of Johnson Controls, a Fortune 500 company that specializes in building efficiency and sustainability. Molinaroli has been an outspoken advocate for green energy, and he believes that it is not only necessary for the future of our planet, but also for the future of our economy. In this article, we will take a closer look at Molinaroli’s thoughts on sustainability and the role that businesses must play in order to create a more sustainable future.

Alex A Molinaroli was born in 1956 and he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan before going on to receive his MBA from Harvard. Before taking a job with Johnson Controls, Molinaroli worked for General Electric as Executive Vice President and Head of GE Transportation Systems. In 2006, Molinaroli took over as president and CEO of Johnson Controls, and then in 2013, he was named CEO.

According to Alex A Molinaroli, sustainability is “enabling our buildings to be more comfortable, productive and efficient.” He believes that society has come to take it for granted that we can simply produce more energy whenever we need it without any thought about the future implications. However, as resources become more scarce, society will have to change its mind about energy. Molinaroli also believes that business has a major role to play in this shift towards sustainable practices. But what is Johnson Controls doing specifically? Well, for starters, they are investing $1 billion over the next 10 years on research and development of green building technologies. This is a major undertaking, but Molinaroli believes it is necessary to combat the challenges of climate change. In fact, Johnson Controls has developed a green building rating system that rates buildings based on their energy efficiency and environmental impact. It is called the Energy STAR label, and so far more than 30 billion square feet have been certified by the label. Learn more about Alex Molinaroli
